Melody Brown, founder of L&M Hair Company, brings the energy! As a bald white guy, I don't know much (anything) about hair care and styling of black women's hair - so I learned a lot about weaves, bundles, box braids. Let's go!

What I really learned is that Melody is a great entrepreneur and has a solid business model with strong margins ($800 for some hair styling + the same for a high-end wig. Yes please!). What's even more important than being great at her craft is that Mel has created an Academy of excellence in hair styling and brought 30-35 folks out of poverty to make a really good living. Portland for the win! A couple of years ago, I met Mel through her brother Tyrone Poole and they both have been incredible members of The Script Founders community here in Portland!
